Washington CORE recently spoke with Evan Shelley, the founder and CEO of Truck Parking Club, to better understand how his real estate-meets-tech startup is addressing one of the U.S. trucking industry’s most overlooked challenges: the chronic shortage of truck parking.
Originally a real estate developer, Shelley launched the platform in 2022 to connect truck drivers with underutilized landowners, creating what he calls an “Airbnb for truck parking.” Through the company’s app and online platform, drivers reserve parking while property owners monetize idle land.
Shelley discussed how the idea was born out of regulatory bottlenecks, the unexpected tech-savviness of truck drivers, and the strategic relocation of the company’s headquarters to Chattanooga, Tennessee, which is now a growing logistics and tech hub.
With over 3,000 parking locations and integration into major fleet systems, Truck Parking Club is scaling fast.
